Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you engage Stonex Restoration Ltd for exterior cleaning and restoration services. Last updated: 25 October 2026.

1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of exterior cleaning and restoration services by Stonex Restoration Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15927724) with its registered office at 12 Hawthorn Close, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 0HE.

By requesting a quote or engaging our services, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

2. Our Services

We provide professional exterior cleaning and restoration using the DOFF superheated steam cleaning system, including (but not limited to) roof cleaning, stonework and masonry cleaning, driveway cleaning, patio and paving cleaning, wall and external surface cleaning, and heritage and delicate stonework cleaning.

All work is carried out using the DOFF system at controlled, low pressure. We will assess each surface before commencing work and advise where a particular surface or condition is unsuitable for our method.

3. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on the information provided by the Customer and our assessment of the property at the time of quoting.

If the scope of work changes, or if additional work is identified that was not included in the original quote, we will agree any variation in writing with you before proceeding.

4. Access and Site Conditions

The Customer is responsible for providing safe and unobstructed access to the areas to be cleaned, including (where applicable) access to water and a suitable power supply. The Customer must inform us in advance of any hazards, including (but not limited to) asbestos, fragile surfaces, loose tiles, or unsafe access.

We reserve the right to postpone or decline work where, in our reasonable opinion, the site is unsafe or access is inadequate.

5. Customer Obligations

The Customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information about the property and the surfaces to be cleaned;
  • Disclose any known defects, previous treatments, or fragile areas;
  • Move or protect any items that could be affected by the cleaning process;
  • Ensure pets and children are kept away from the work area during cleaning.

6. Liability and Waivers

We take every reasonable care when carrying out our work. However, exterior cleaning of aged, weathered or delicate surfaces carries inherent risk, and the Customer acknowledges and accepts the following:

  • Pre-existing condition: We are not liable for damage that arises from, or is contributed to by, the pre-existing condition of a surface — including (but not limited to) loose or cracked tiles, deteriorated pointing, unstable masonry, or surfaces already weakened by weathering, age, or previous treatments.
  • Delicate and heritage surfaces: Where we advise that a surface is delicate, historic, or otherwise sensitive, we will use controlled steam cleaning where appropriate. The Customer accepts that such surfaces may respond unpredictably and that we cannot guarantee a particular outcome.
  • Organic growth regrowth: While the DOFF system kills and removes moss, algae and lichen, we do not guarantee that organic growth will not return, as regrowth is influenced by environmental factors beyond our control.
  • Water ingress: We are not liable for water ingress or damage arising from pre-existing defects in roofs, pointing, seals, or other parts of the property.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to the Customer in connection with any engagement shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the services giving rise to the claim.

7. Payment

Payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the work. We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods agreed in advance.

We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

8. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice where we have already incurred costs or reserved time for your job.

Where work is postponed due to adverse weather or unsafe conditions, we will reschedule at the earliest mutually convenient time at no additional charge.

9. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us within 7 days of completion so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, put things right. We are committed to resolving any concerns promptly and fairly.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
